Range Day Preparation

GUNS & AMMO

1. A well-maintained gun is key to safe shooting. Make sure to clean, lubricate, and function check your firearm(s) before leaving for the range.

2. Checking and replacing batteries in your optics: If your guns are equipped with electronic optics, ensure that they're functioning correctly, and the batteries are fresh.

3. Loading magazine and packing extra ammo: Make sure to load your magazines and pack some extra ammo in case you run out.

GEAR & ACCESSORIES

1. Checking and replacing batteries in your ear protection: If you're using electronic ear protection, make sure your batteries are fresh. Just in case your electronic ear protection fails, pack some back-up foam earplugs.

2. Don't forget to pack all the essentials, including targets, staple gun and staples, sharpies, and your data book (if shooting long range).

3. Malfunctions happen, so be prepared to handle it: Make sure to pack tool kits, rags, and a guide rod to help you get back up and running.

COMFORT & SAFETY

1. Water and snacks: Shooting can be exhausting, so make sure to stay hydrated and bring along some snacks to keep your energy levels up.

2. Easy up for shade: Bring an easy-up or something similar for shade, especially if it's going to be a sunny day. Don't forget your sunscreen!

3. Medical kit: Accidents can happen, so it's essential to have a medical kit on hand for emergencies. Pack some basic supplies like band-aids, gauze, antiseptic, and a tourniquet in your range bag.
